EMI shielding thermoplastic elastomers.

One of Europe's best-selling EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) An electrical disturbance in a system due to natural phenomena, low-frequency waves from electromechanical devices or high-frequency waves (RFI) from chips and other electronic devices. Allowable limits are governed by the FCC.  shielding TPEs (thermoplastic elastomers), said to be a better, more cost-effective and more environmentally friendly material than silicone, is being formally introduced to the North American North American

Oy, Preseal TPEs for EMI shielding applications (where shielding for electromagnetic interference See EMI.  is desired) are said to offer both improved mechanical and electrical properties. Electrical conductivity is achieved with metal coated fillers.

Preseal compounds (modified SEBS-based) were developed for demanding applications requiring high conductivity and easy processing. Electrical conductivity is achieved with metal coated fillers which are, depending on the grade, either silver-coated glass or nickel-coated glass.

As compared to silicone, the EMI shielding TPEs are suitable for normal thermoplastic processing methods.
