EMI, CIMA merger approved. (News Briefs).

Memberships of the Equipment Manufacturers Institute (EMI) and Construction Industry Manufacturers Association (CIMA) have approved the consolidation of the two industry trade groups into one association. The new association will legally begin operation January 1, 2002. Current offices in Chicago and Milwaukee will continue to operate, with separate divisions to address the specific interests of agricultural and construction equipment manufacturers. Members of either organization as of December 31, 2001, will become new members of the combined association, and the chairmen of both groups will serve as co-chairmen during 2002.
