EMCOR names new chief financial officer.

Norwalk, Connecticut-based electrical engineering firm EMCOR Group, Inc., announced this week the election of Mark A. Pompa as their executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Pompa, 41, succeeds 59 year-old Leicle E. Chesser, who has been appointed to the position of vice chairman.

Chesser will serve as vice chairman until the end of 2006, at which point he plans to retire and pursue philanthropic interests. Chesser has served as EMCOR Group's CFO since May 1994.

Pompa brings extensive financial accounting and management experience to his new role. Prior to becoming CFO, Pompa served as the company's senior vice president, chief accounting officer and treasurer. He will continue on as treasurer. From September 1994 to June 2003, Pompa was the company's vice president and controller. Before joining EMCOR, he was an audit and business advisory manager at Arthur Andersen, LLP.

Pompa received his bachelor's degree from Pace University; he is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut State Society of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International. Pompa will report to Anthony Guzzi, president and chief operating officer of EMCOR Group.
