EMC to buy Documentum.
Data storage maker EMC (1) (EMC Corporation, Hopkinton, MA, www.emc.com) The leading supplier of storage products for midrange computers and mainframes. Founded in 1979 by Richard J. Egan and Roger Marino, EMC has developed advanced storage and retrieval technologies for the world's largest companies. recently announced it would buy software
vendor Documentum Documentum is an enterprise content management platform, now delivered by EMC Corporation, as well as the name of the software company that originally developed the technology. EMC acquired Documentum for $1.7 billion in December, 2003. for $1.66 billion to expand its document management
software offerings. EMC will offer 2.175 shares of EMC common stock tar
each share of Documentum common stock.
