(Nasdaq:NZRO), the nation's largest provider of free Internet access with more than 3 million registered users, has standardized on EMC Enterprise Storage to enable NetZero to collect and manage customer data. Using its proprietary zCast targeting and tracking technology, NetZero can deliver targeted advertising messages to NetZero users based on their demographics and personal interests.

NetZero, based in Westlake Village, Calif., uses EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems to provide 50 terabytes of high-performance storage to an Oracle data warehouse based on Sun Solaris servers and EMC's Celerra File Server running NetZero's e-mail services.

The company uses EMC ControlCenter software for proactive monitoring and management control of Symmetrix storage. NetZero has also implemented EMC PowerPath to increase online availability and overall server performance. PowerPath automatically balances information loads across all available server paths and re-routes data if a path is temporarily disabled.
