EMC Names Dave Ellard Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage, today announced the appointment of Dave Ellard as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO). Ellard will lead EMC's efforts to extend its own EMC E-Infostructure to keep pace with the company's accelerated global growth and help it achieve competitive advantage through the use of information.

Ellard is responsible for EMC's worldwide information systems (IS) infrastructure, including systems development, operations, telecommunications, IS procurement, enterprise storage and facility requirements. Ellard reports to Joe Tucci, President and Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to joining EMC, Ellard was Vice President and CIO at Boston Scientific Corporation, where he was responsible for integrating the IT operations of 15 acquired companies into Boston Scientific's overall IT architecture - creating a single interface for customers and improved communication processes across the organization. Ellard also led the company's successful enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation, during which time the company's supply chain was completely redesigned into a single ERP system.

Ellard received a BSBA from Stonehill College and holds an MBA from New Hampshire College Graduate School.
