EMC Corp. ships 1,000th Symmetrix 5500 Integrated Cached Disk Array.


HOPKINTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 1995--EMC Corp. today announced shipment of its 1,000th Symmetrix 5500 Integrated Cached Disk Array (ICDA ICDA

) subsystem, the highest performing and highest capacity disk array in the IBM mainframe market.

The 1,000th Symmetrix 5500 was delivered to R.L. Polk & Co. of Taylor, Mich., a leading marketing information services firm whose success depends on rapid access to large amounts of information. Polk recently installed two Symmetrix 5500-9 subsystems which store the mission-critical information in Polk's consumer and product market information databases.
