ELECTRO-WIRE ACQUIRES LEADING GERMANAUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SUPPLIER

 DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- In a strategic move to solidify its role as a leading international supplier of automotive electrical distribution systems and components, Electro-Wire Products, Inc. has acquired Temic Telefunken Kabelsatz GMbH (TKG) of Mulheim, Germany. TKG was previously a member of Germany's largest conglomerate, Damlier Benz AG.
 With manufacturing and research facilities in Germany and production capabilities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria, TKG gives Electro-Wire a broad base from which to serve customers throughout the European Community. Current TKG customers include Mercedes Benz, BMW, Saab and Ford Europe.
 Like Electro-Wire, TKG is a leader in vehicle electrical distribution systems. Combined sales of the two companies are projected to approach $675 million.
 From manufacturing operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Electro-Wire supplies automotive and heavy truck markets with products that include wire harnesses, precision metal stampings, injection-molded components and electromechanical devices. Ford, GM, Mack Truck, Navistar and Paccar are among the company's principle customers.
