, 49, has succeeded Richard Corbin as president of Ekco Housewares, the company's largest operating division. Mr. Wittekind, who joined Ekco Group in August 1994, most recently served as senior vice president of marketing and sales for the company's bakeware and kitchenware businesses. He reports to Robert Stein, Ekco Group president and chief executive officer.

"Dick Corbin played a major role in the creation of the Ekco Housewares division," said Stein. "He provided the leadership necessary for the planning and successful integration of our bakeware, kitchenware, cleaning and plastic products businesses."

Mr. Corbin, Ekco Group's executive vice president of marketing and sales, and former president of Ekco Housewares, plans to leave the company in August to pursue other interests.

"We are very excited that Dennis is succeeding Dick as president of the Ekco Housewares division," continued Stein. "We are confident that Dennis will further drive our recently announced marketing strategy that includes leveraging the EKCO brand, one of the most recognized names in the housewares industry."

Prior to joining Ekco Group, Mr. Wittekind held senior management positions in sales and marketing for companies in the housewares and consumer products industries, including Alladin Industries in Nashville, Tennessee and Forster Manufacturing Company in Wilton, Maine.

Ekco Group, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded houseware products that are broadly distributed in the United States and Canada, primarily through major mass merchant, supermarket, home/office and hardware stores. The company's products include household products such as bakeware, kitchenware, plastic storage products, brooms, brushes, mops, as well as nonpoisonous and low-toxic household pest control and animal care products.
