EIZO Announces Three FlexScan(R) Widescreen Monitors for Business Use.

Hakusan, Japan, Sept 12, 2007 - (JCN Newswire) - Hakusan, Japan, September 12, 2007 Eizo Nanao Corporation (TSE: 6737) today added three new models to its FlexScan line of widescreen LCD monitors with the introduction of the 20.1-inch FlexScan S2001W, 22-inch FlexScan S2201W, and the 24.1-inch FlexScan S2401W. Designed specifically for business environments, these monitors offer an almost uniform set of performance features. Their increased horizontal screen space makes them an ideal upgrade for the 17-, 19-, and 21-inch sizes currently in common use in corporate and government facilities.

The S2201W and S2001W both employ twisted neumatic (TN) panel technology and have a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1680 x 1050 native resolution. Brightness is 300 cd/m2, contrast ratio 1000:1, and viewing angles 178 degree horizontally and vertically at a contrast ratio of 5:1. The FlexScan S2401W also incorporates a TN panel and has the same figures except the native resolution is 1920 x 1200 and brightness is an even higher 360 cd/m2.

The monitors are available with either a height adjustable stand or EIZO's EzUp stand. The height adjustable stand offers 82 mm of vertical adjustment, tilt and swivel angles of 40 and 70, and 90 degrees rotation for portrait mode viewing. The EzUp stand with its two axes of movement delivers further flexibility including 170 mm height adjustment, 25 degree tilt, 344 degree swivel, and portrait mode display.

For operations that use a large number of monitors, any reduction in power consumption can lead to significant cost savings. EIZO's BrightRegulator function reads the ambient light of the office environment and adjusts the brightness accordingly. Energy is saved because the screen is never too bright. This in turn helps prevent eye fatigue and the decrease in productivity that accompanies it.

The FlexScan S2401W adjusts brightness at the ideal level with EIZO's patented backlight sensor. Within minutes of the monitor being turned on, this sensor corrects for brightness fluctuations that normally can occur for up to two hours. In addition, the sensor counteracts the effects of a power surge to keep brightness stable and protect against backlight deterioration.

Various color control options are available in the OSD menu including brightness, contrast, gamma, saturation, hue, gain, and color temperature. 10-bit gamma correction produces a palette of more than one billion colors from which 16.7 million are displayed simultaneously.

Users looking for appropriate settings for all types of content can choose from one of five imaging modes Text, Picture, Movie, Custom, and sRGB. Toggling from one mode to another is done by touching a single switch on the front panel. For further convenience, any mode can be assigned to any application with the bundled ScreenManager[R] Pro for LCD utility software[1]. When the application is opened, the screen automatically changes to its assigned mode.

Connectivity ports include one DVI-I input (digital/analog) and one D-Sub (analog) input, and a high speed USB 2.0 hub with one upstream and two downstream ports. Press Release Audio capability is supplied with dual 0.5 watt speakers hidden at the bottom. With this design, users can enjoy sufficient sound and bezel size is kept to a minimum. If greater volume is required, the i-Sound L3 speaker unit is available as an accessory. The i-Sound L3 includes dual 0.9 watt speakers and attaches to the bottom of the bezel to focus sound directly at the user[2].

All models comply with some of the strictest standards for office equipment including TCO'03 and TUV Rheinland/Ergonomics. They also carry the EIZO Eco Products 2006 in-house label signifying they meet several internal requirements such as the use of lead-free solder and chrome-free steel plates.
