EILEEN M. FRIARS OF NATIONSBANK CARD SERVICES ELECTED TO MEMBERSHIP IN COMMITTEE OF 200

 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec., 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Eileen M. Friars, president of NationsBank Card Services, has been elected to membership in the prestigious Committee of 200, an international organization of leading businesswomen.
 Committee of 200 members are considered people who know what business risks are appropriate and when to take them. They hold decision-making positions at the highest levels either with their own firms or at major corporations. Members include presidents, chief executive officers, senior executives and company founders. Members own businesses with annual revenue of more than $10 million or manage corporate divisions with more than $50 million in annual revenue. About one-third own firms grossing more than $25 million and 14 percent own or work for companies that gross more than $150 million annually.
 Friars has been president of NationsBank Card Services since January 1992. That unit ranks among the country's top 10 credit card operations with about one million accounts and more than $4.5 billion in outstandings. The largest bank card operation based in the South, it employs approximately 1,500 people.
 As of October 1, 1993, NationsBank was the third largest banking company in the United States with assets of approximately $156 billion.
 Prominent members of the Chicago-based Committee of 200 include: Linnet F. Deily, chairman and chief executive officer of First Interstate Bank of Texas; Gay Culverhouse, president, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Lillian Vernon, chairman and chief executive officer, Lillian Vernon Corp.; Muriel Siebert, president of Muriel Seibert & Co. Inc., New York; and Diana Dwyer Brooks, president and chief executive officer of Sotheby's Inc.
 Friars joined NationsBank as a senior executive vice president in November 1990. Previously, she was senior vice president and co-director of The MAC Group from 1976 until 1990. Prior to that, she was a management associate with the Federal Office of Management and Budget.
 She holds a bachelor's degree from Simmons College and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
 Friars is editor of "Financial Services Handbook: Executive Insights and Solutions." She is a member of the MasterCard U.S. Region Business Committee and the Visa USA Delivery System Advisers. She also serves on the board of the Harvard Business School Alumnae Association.
