The EGT VIPr[TM] is a revolutionary new approach to digital video processing that allows the customer to build a custom encoding solution on an open, programmable foundation and flexible hardware packaging. The EGT VIPr architecture is built on an efficient DSP-based processing engine, is capable of encoding both MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 in the same unit and offers more than 100 different combinations, making it the most robust and flexible solution on the market. EGT's second generation MPEG-4 encoder, the VIPr4-SDx is the first product to launch on the new platform. Feature rich with embedded multiplexing, DTMF and cue-trigger detection, the VIPr4-SDX delivers the highest quality video at the lowest bitrate. Built on the EGT VIPr platform with hot-swappable channel blades and fan trays, the VIPr4-SDx has more flexibility and system reliability than ever before. The EGT VIPr4-SDx is the only MPEG-4 encoder with optional digital program insertion (DPI), variable bit rate (VBR), Pro-MPEG forward error correction (FEC) and MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 transcoding.
