EGGING ON THE 4-YEAR-OLDS BUNNIES AND PALS GET READY FOR PARK EVENTS.

PALMDALE - Egg hunts and spring festivals will go on this weekend in Palmdale and next weekend in Lancaster, Quartz Hill, Lake Los Angeles, Littlerock and Pearblossom.

First up will be Palmdale Springfest on Saturday at Pelona Vista Park, with the others April 14 and 15.

"This is a great event for the entire family. Every year it gets better," Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford said of the Palmdale egg hunt.

The egg hunt at Jackie Robinson Park in Littlerock will be on Good Friday, April 14. Those at Lancaster City Park, Lane Park at Quartz Hill, Steve Sorensen Park at Lake Los Angeles, Everett Martin Park in Littlerock and Pearblossom Park will be on April 15.

The Palmdale Springfest will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Pelona Vista Park, 37800 Tierra Subida. Admission is free. For information, call (661) 267-5611.

Springfest egg hunts will occur in five categories: for ages 4 and 5 at 10 a.m.; 3 and younger, 10:20 a.m.; ages 6 and 7, 10:40 a.m.; ages 8 and 9, 11 a.m.; ages 10 to 12, 11:15 a.m.; and, for all ages, a free-for-all at 11:30 a.m.

Participants must bring their own baskets. Children will receive up to five eggs with treats inside. Children who arrive late for their age group's hunt time can participate in the next hunt. Only one adult is allowed on the field with each child.

A petting zoo, pony rides, kiddie rides, face painting, entertainment and lawn games will start at noon. Children can participate in crafts for $1 per project. Photos with a giant bunny are $2. Using a rock-climbing wall costs $1, and the price is also $1 for a paintless paintball shooting gallery.

The Springfest is sponsored by Washington Mutual, Coca-Cola Bottling, Waste Management of Antelope Valley, Henisey Industries and Sunbelt Rentals.

Other parks' events include:

LITTLEROCK - Jackie Robinson Park, 8773 E. Ave. R. An egg hunt for children ages 1 to 9 and a scavenger hunt for those ages 10 to 13 will start at noon April 14. Admission is free. For information, call (661) 944-2880.

LANCASTER - Lancaster City Park, 43011 10th St. W. Egg hunts will begin at 9:30 a.m. April 15. Hunt times by age are: 9:30 a.m., infants; 9:50 a.m., age 2; 10:10 a.m., age 3; 10:30 a.m., ages 4 and 5; 10:50 a.m., age 6; 11:10 a.m., age 7; and 11:30 a.m., ages 8 and 9. Face painting, a balloon-artist clown and puppet shows will entertain children between hunts. Photos are $3 with the Easter Bunny. Adults will be allowed on the fields only with children age 5 and younger. For information, call (661) 723-6000.

QUARTZ HILL - Egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. April 15 for children ages 1 to 10 at George Lane Park, 5520 W. Ave. L-8. Games and crafts will begin at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free. For information, call (661) 722-7780.

PEARBLOSSOM - Egg hunt and crafts will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. April 15 at Pearblossom Park, 33922 121st St. E. For information, call (661) 944-2988.

LAKE LOS ANGELES - Egg hunt will be at noon April 15 at Steve Sorensen Park, 16801 E. Ave. P.

LITTLEROCK - Egg hunt and crafts will be from 2 to 4 p.m. April 15 at Everett Martin Park, 35548 92nd St. E. For information, call (661) 944-2988.
