EFEVBERHA IMPRESSIVE FOR CSUN.

Byline: - Jill Painter

The prevailing thought is that as guard Mike Efevberha goes, so does Cal State Northridge's basketball team. If Thursday Thursday: see week.  was any indication, the Matadors should be in good shape.

Efevberha, a transfer from UC Irvine, scored a game-high 28 points as CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  pulled away at the end to post a 90-75 win over Cal State Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  in a preseason game at the Northridge Gym.

``I was so excited, I was just taking everything in,'' Efevberha said. ``I'm happy to be back.''

Center Austin Waggener had 10 points and 11 rebounds and fans had a chance to check out freshmen Jason Hill, Austen Powers, Jayme Miller and Rob Haynes.

CSUN had an unexpectedly large crowd of 1,285 - more than it has for some regular-season games.
