Col. James Dill James Peers Dill (born:1859 - died:1937) was a politician from old Northwest Territories Canada.

James first ran in the 1888 Northwest Territories general election but was defeated by Benjamin Parkyn Richardson in a 6 vote margin.
 assumed command of the 95th Air Base Wing on Monday, in effect becoming the mayor of Edwards.

Dill assumed command from Col. Edward DeIulio, who is going to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., to head the Personnel and Training Panel for the Air Force. DeIulio had served as air base wing commander since June 1997.

The wing commander is ultimately responsible for facilities, security, communications, business services, emergency response, medical services, logistics and personnel services at the base with nearly 2,000 military and civilian employees.

Dill previously was commander of the 750th Space Group at Onizuka Air Station in Sunnyvale.

A 1975 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, he started his career as a research and development officer. His early assignments included working on the B-1 program at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. In 1983, Dill moved from weapons-acquisition work into space operations.

Dill's tours of duty have included serving as special assistant to the director of missile warning at Air Force Space Command headquarters, chief of the Space Operations Branch for the Air Command and Staff College The Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) is located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama and is the United States Air Force's intermediate professional military education (PME) school. , commander of Thule (Greenland) Air Base, commander of the 21st Operations Support Squadron In the United States Air Force, an operations support squadron supplies all the necessary manpower and equipment needed to continue numerous operational tasks. An operations support squadron may dictate policy, train aircrews, and maintain airfields based on the missions of the  and deputy operations group commander of the 21st Space Wing, and chief of the Space and Missile Defense Policy Branch.

Dill is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and of the Naval War College.
