EDUCATIONAL DESIGN.


Purpose: The 95th Annual Scientific Assembly of the Southern Medical Association will provide physicians the opportunity to update their medical knowledge, enhance their clinical skills, and support their professional development through a multi-faceted curriculum of activities, Through a combination of Plenary Sessions, Scientific Symposia, Mini-Plenary Sessions, Grand Rounds, abstract presentations, and healthcare product exposition. the assembly strives to develop and promote continuing medical education continuing medical education See CME. , with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care.

Target Audience: PRIMARY CARE and SPECIALTY CARE physicians, physicians-in-training, and key members of the healthcare team including physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Accreditation: The Southern Medical Association is accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.

 by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education The Accrediting Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) is the overseeing body for continuing medical education (CME) in the United States. This program was planned and produced in accordance with ACCME ACCME Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education  Essentials for Continuing Medical Education.
