Cash prizes to be awarded in Rotary poster contest

COTTAGE GROVE Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery).  - Students artists have until 4 p.m. March 2 to submit entries in a poster contest for the April 28 Rotary Club Benefit Auction. Proceeds from the annual auction provide scholarships for Cottage Grove High School Cottage Grove High School is a public high school located in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It has a newer school building, opened in 2003 to replace the old high school building that was built in 1939 and held its first classes in 1940.  graduates.

 will be selected from posters submitted in each of four age groups: kindergarten through grade two; grades three through five; grades six through eight; and grades nine through 12.

One overall winner will be selected as this year's poster design, receiving a $250 award for their school's art department. All posters should reflect the theme, "It's a Small World It's a Small World (formatted “it's a small world” by the Walt Disney Company) is a popular attraction at several Walt Disney theme parks: Disneyland (in California), the Magic Kingdom (in Florida), Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Resort Paris. ." Oregon Student Assistance Commission The Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC), established by the Oregon Legislature in 1959, is primarily charged with administering student financial aid programs, and through its Office of Degree Authorization, authorizing and regulating the granting of degrees by institutions  scholarship application booklets have been distributed to Oregon high school counseling and college financial aid offices.  program enables students of all ages to apply for up to 20 scholarships through a single application.

Most go to Oregon residents entering or returning to Oregon colleges this fall. Some are open to out-of-state students and many may be used at eligible colleges throughout the United States.

Science Factory celebrates National Engineering Week

Families can celebrate the achievements of engineers from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday as part of National Engineering Week at the Science Factory, 2300 Leo Harris Parkway. Local engineers will create a circus of hands-on engineering activities designed to help youth investigate some of the amazing aspects of the engineering field, exploring ways to solve challenges in situations that arise on the job, and discovering what impact engineering has in our daily lives.

'Nesting Neighbors'

is Nearby Nature event

Nearby Nature will host Nesting Neighbors, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Participants will learn about our feathered friends and make a birdhouse to take home. A small donation is requested for materials.

The workshops are at Lane ESD and designed for Lane County public school teachers of grades K-12. McCornack dinner, auction to be at Schnitzer Museum

McCornack Elementary School's second annual dinner and auction will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art is an art museum located on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. The original building was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence as part of his "main university quadrangle," now known as the Memorial Quadrangle.  at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities. . The event features silent and live auctions, and dinner. Items to be auctioned include artwork by the students and by professional artists.

Kindergarten Summit March 20 in Portland

The first Oregon Kindergarten Summit will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 20 at the Oregon Convention Center The Oregon Convention Center is a convention center in Portland, Oregon. It is located on the east side of the Willamette River in the Lloyd District neighborhood. The Oregon Convention Center is best known for the twin spire towers which provide light into the building's interior.  in Portland.

The summit will provide information networking about kindergarten issues and solutions.
