Seniors Tia Lyn Roberts

On May 20, 1998, student Kipland "Kip" Kinkel killed his parents, William and Faith, both Spanish teachers at local high schools.
 have been named Students of the Month by the Springfield-Twin Rivers Rotary Club.

A Link Leader, Roberts is active in student council, soccer, swimming, track and field and the Day of Caring event. Lewis is involved in soccer, basketball and baseball, and has been the student representative to the Springfield School Board.

Sutherlin Rotary Club awards scholarships

The Rotary Club of Sutherlin recently honored this year's scholarship recipients. They are Anna Reeve, Ronda Glazner, Kristin Cote and Austin Baptista of Sutherlin High School, and Alexi Wilson, Marissa Nicole Dobbins and Darcy Basque of Oakland High School Oakland High School may refer to:

Thurston High student earns achievement honor

Northwest Community Credit Union has chosen Thurston High School student Adam Spencer as this quarter's Northwest Best at THS THS True Hollywood Story (docudrama TV series)

, an award honoring high-achieving students at Thurston High School.

Spencer, a graduating senior, serves as historian for the National Honor Society The National Honor Society (NHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for American high school students who show achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  as well as editor of Thurston's school newspaper.

He received most inspirational player for his high school varsity soccer team. Spencer also spent a week in Mexico for missionary service, and has volunteered time at a Latino Family Conference.

In addition to maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, Spencer has received the University of Rochester The University of Rochester (UR) is a private, coeducational and nonsectarian research university located in Rochester, New York. The university is one of 62 elected members of the Association of American Universities.  Honorary Science Award.

Thurston students

receive scholarships

Thurston High School students T.J. Tally and Ken Adams III were awarded scholarships by SierraPine, a particleboard manufacturer.

Tally, who is graduating this month, has participated in several hours of community service. He plans to attend Lane Community College. Adams has delivered food to needy families and has volunteered at the Elks Lodge. He plans to attend Oregon State University Oregon State University, at Corvallis; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1858 as Corvallis College, opened 1865. In 1868 it was designated Oregon's land-grant agricultural college and was taken over completely by the state in 1885. .
