EDS Japan, Isuzu Sign Engineering Support Agreement for Automotive Development.


Tokyo, Japan, Aug 8, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H. Ross Perot (independent candidate for the President of the U.S. in 1992), EDS is the largest outsourcing and data processing services organization in the country.  Japan announced on August 8 that it has reached a five-year engineering support agreement with Isuzu for automotive development.

Under the agreement, EDS Japan will provide support with 3D CAD and PDM (1) (Product Data Management) An information system used to manage the data for a product as it passes from engineering to manufacturing. The data includes plans, geometric models, CAD drawings, images, NC programs as well as all related project data, notes and  systems to help Isuzu develop quality products in a timely and cost-efficient way.

EDS Japan will also help Isuzu improve service levels and business efficiency in system operations through the Program Management Office, where 30 support engineers will identify and prioritize relationships between Isuzu's mid- and long-term management goals, projects and systems.
