EDO Corporation announces receipt of $2 million NATO command and control contract.

:EDO Edo: see Tokyo, Japan. ) today announced that its Defense and Space Systems Division (DSD) received a contract valued at approximately $2 million issued on behalf of all NATO NATO: see North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

The contract is the first in a series of NATO Air Defense Ground Environment (NADGE NADGE NATO Air Defense Ground Environment ) command center upgrades for selected NATO countries to be exercised as options over the next several years.

Under the contract, EDO DSD's Combat Systems business unit, based in Chesapeake, Va., will manufacture the Data Handling and Display Subsystem (DHDS DHDS Digital History Data System ) of NATO-wide Ship-Shore-Ship Buffer (SSSB SSSB Small Solar-System Body (International Astronomical Union Resolution 5A)

) command, control and communications (C3) system. The SSSB DHDS will upgrade the C3 capabilities of three NATO Air Defense Ground Environment (NADGE) command centers in Norway with state-of-the-art software systems, commercial workstations, and communications systems. The first deliveries in Norway are scheduled to be completed in 1996 and 1997.
