(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :EDO) announced today that it has received a contract valued at approximately $1.3 million from the Royal Norwegian Air Force Material Command to produce the Maritime Headquarters (MHQ) System for the NATO Ship Shore Ship Buffer (SSSB) Program. The MHQ System will use EDO's Data Handling and Display System (DHDS DHDS Digital History Data System ) as the main command and control system. The MHQ System will be located in a national Command Center and will greatly improve information management capabilities. EDO's Data Handling and Display System is designed using state-of-the-art software systems, commercial workstations and communications systems. The MHQ System will be manufactured by EDO's Combat Systems business unit, based in Chesapeake, Virginia. Deliveries are scheduled in 1998. Frank A.
