EDMONDS VOWS TO MAKE QUICK RETURN FROM SPRAINED RIGHT WRIST.

Center fielder Jim Edmonds James Patrick "Jim" Edmonds (born June 27, 1970 in Fullerton, California) is a left-handed batter who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals. Edmonds is affectionately known as Jimmy Baseball [1], "Lassie" and as "Hollywood"[2] among Cardinals fans.  said his sprained right wrist was feeling better Sunday and he plans to return to the lineup soon.

He said he taped the wrist and took some practice swings Sunday during the Angels' 6-0 loss to the Devil Rays.

``I don't plan on sitting on the bench too long,'' Edmonds said. ``I don't want to hear anybody complaining about me missing five games already. Right now we're struggling, so we need everybody.''

        Erstad also moved from leadoff to the No. 3 spot in the batting order but went 0 for 3 with a walk, his hitting streak being snapped at 15 straight.
