Living large Los Angeles city leaders think they can get away with claiming that $1 million - or .02 percent - is the most they can possibly trim from their $5.3 billion budget. They're wrong. Do-nothing reform More than anyone else in L.A. City Hall, Mayor James Hahn has the power to effect serious change. But for all his expressed concern, he has done almost nothing about ethics reform. Ignoring California California got socked with storms that wiped out 215 homes in January, but it's not getting anything like the sort of federal help that politically sensitive Florida received after its spate of hurricanes. |
