There were three big winners in last week's elections - Greig Smith, the Los Angeles Community College District and David Tokofsy. All three now have much to prove, and all three are in a position to do much good.

Where your money goes

Time magazine reports that pay raises are a thing of the past and companies everywhere are cutting back, but there's still one company where the pay hikes keep on coming: Los Angeles City Hall.
