Politically friendly

Political insiders aren't sidling up to Antonio Villaraigosa because they think he's such a swell guy. They're doing it because their main goal is preserving whatever status they have at City Hall.

It's only fitting that outgoing Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn seems poised to end his tenure by trashing the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Arrogance of power

If the county supes want to help District Attorney Steve Cooley and county Assessor Rick Auerbach fight term limits, they should do it on their own dime and not ask the taxpayers to pay for the legal battle.
