EDITORIAL WEEK IN REVIEW.

A roundup of some of our more important editorials this past week:

Remembering 9-11

It shouldn't take a high-powered investigation to show us that the government dropped the ball on terrorism before 9-11; that's obvious. And the purpose of the 9-11 Commission isn't to discover the obvious - or to politicize tragedy.

City Hall shake-up

Mayor James Hahn might not be able to recognize the recent rash of resignations among his office staff as a sign of things going wrong in his administration, but clearly this is more than just a bump in the road.

Clean house

The Los Angeles City Council's decision to halt a proposed DWP water rate hike - for now - amounts to a vote of no confidence in the utility's management. It's time for the council to begin fixing what's broken at the DWP.

Passing the buck

Mayor Hahn's attempt to blame all of the city's budget problems on cuts in state funding is disingenuous at best, and a flat-out lie at worst.
