No more subsidies

By all accounts, downtown Los Angeles Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, located close to the geographic center of the metropolitan area. The sprawling, multi-centered megacity is such that its downtown core is often considered just another district like Hollywood or  is an urban-renewal success story. So it's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  to stop the subsidies and spread the city's wealth to the neighborhoods.

Lots of questions

The Department of Water and Power seems quite capable of squeezing as much money as possible from ratepayers. So why does it fail to do so with the 315,000 acres the utility owns?

Could she be the mayor's secret weapon for reforming the LAUSD LAUSD Los Angeles Unified School District (Los Angeles, CA)  by destroying it?
