EDITORIAL THREE CHEERS FOR CHIME.


WE always knew that CHIME Charter School in Woodland Hills was something special. Now the rest of the world does too.

Last week, the school was selected from nearly 500 in the state to be honored hon·or

1. High respect, as that shown for special merit; esteem: the honor shown to a Nobel laureate.

 as charter school of the year by the California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Charter School Association.

CHIME elementary integrates special-education and regular students into one program. Last year the school had the largest increase of Academic Performance Index points in the entire Los Angeles Unified School District The Los Angeles Unified School District (the "LAUSD") is the largest (in terms of number of students) public school system in California and the second-largest in the United States. Only the New York City Department of Education has a larger student population. .
