EDITORIAL NEW DAY FOR CSUN SPORTS.


Changes raise hopes for Valley fansDICK Dull's decision to step aside as athletic director at California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , is one that bodes well for CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  sports.

While Dull had some notable accomplishments during his six-year tenure - most notably the men's basketball team's first appearance in the NCCA NCCA National Commission for Certifying Agencies

 by his decision to balance the books by shedding the CSUN football program that same year.

Dull will move into a new capacity for which he is ably suited and where there is great need - raising money for CSUN athletic facilities. Meanwhile, associate athletic director Janet Lucas will take over as interim director while the university conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.

All of which gives hope that CSUN has a bright sports future ahead.
