EDITORIAL MUSLIM DENIAL.

WHAT'S almost as disturbing as the haunting video of Osama bin Laden celebrating his role in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is the response of much of the Muslim world: denial.

While Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have accepted the video as proof of bin Laden's guilt, other governments have offered no official response, even as their state-owned media peddle conspiracy theories to explain it away. Various militant groups and even some supposed ``moderates'' and untold numbers of ordinary Muslims still refuse to own up to the truth about bin Laden.

Maybe they should ask some of the Afghans who lived six years under bin Laden's puppet Taliban regime to find out the truth about their hero.

The war on terrorism marks a clash between civilization and terrorism, with no room for neutrality. It's worrisome, indeed, that a sizable part of the Muslim world - cut off from honest news reports - has clearly chosen the wrong side.
