EDITORIAL MERVYN'S MAKES GOOD RETAILER WELCOMES SALVATION ARMY AFTER ALL.

LISTENING to public sentiment, Mervyn's retail store officials had a change of heart appropriate to the season and now will welcome bell- ringing Salvation Army volunteers after all.

The Salvation Army expects to serve 350,000 people in Southern California this year. Along with generous shoppers, stores such as Mervyn's that accommodate the Army's bell-ringers deserve much of the credit.

Now that's a reason for holiday cheer!
