The ghouls and goblins who fear this Halloween aren't the pint-sized terrors who go door to door asking for candy. It's the vampires of political correctness politically correct

Their latest would-be victim is Halloween, which seems to be ``offensive.''

Offensive to whom? Well, just about everyone.

It's offensive to kids whose families don't celebrate the holiday for religious reasons.

It's offensive to parents who think that kids who dress up as monsters will be inclined to start behaving monstrously.

 some reports, it's even offensive to Wiccans who resent the stereotypical portrayals of witches.

Some local schools aren't holding Halloween events at all this year, or they're banning scary costumes. Others have renamed the event ``Harvest Festival.''

Boo, humbug.

For most kids, Halloween is nothing more than a time for make-believe, frights and candy.
