At Granada Hills High School Granada Hills Charter High School (Granada Hills High School) is a public, charter, co-educational, secondary school consisting of students in grades 9-12. The school colors are green, black, and white.  there's one more important element that you won't find on the periodic tables - chemistry teacher Judie Flint Baumwirt.

Baumwirt was one of a handful of teachers in the state to win the prestigious Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence for her work getting students excited about chemistry.

This is not an easy thing to do. Chemistry class has been the bane BANE. This word was formerly used to signify a malefactor. Bract. 1. 2, t. 8, c. 1.  of many a high school student, who must memorize mem·o·rize

Baumwirt's students are clearly a lucky bunch. Baumwirt said she wakes up every day excited about teaching. She can't wait to get to class. And she's certainly figured out the right formula for turning inert interest into lively attention, as Baumwirt was singled out because of her success using humor humor, according to ancient theory, any of four bodily fluids that determined man's health and temperament. Hippocrates postulated that an imbalance among the humors (blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile) resulted in pain and disease, and that good health was  and hands-on experiments.

Congratulations are in order for Judie Flint Baumwirt. She certainly deserves it.
