EDITORIAL GET OUT AND VOTE THE POWER OF ONE IS YOURS TODAY.

IT'S Super Tuesday, and Californians are part of the biggest day of voting this primary season.

A lot is at stake, enough to make everyone want to turn out and cast a ballot.

There's Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan to start the state down the road to fiscal sanity, Propositions 57 and 58.

Proposition 56 would make it easier to raise taxes.

Local Measure R and state Proposition 55 would provide the money needed for schools statewide to modernize and upgrade, as well as to build new schools that would put an end to overcrowding and year-round class schedules.

And there's more: the Democratic presidential primary, the Republican U.S. Senate primary, legislative nominations, the District Attorney and judicial races as well as a host of local measures.

It's a shame that so many people who are eligible to vote usually don't bother to register, and that 40 percent or so of registered voters won't bother to cast ballots, even when so much is at stake.

Don't be among those who abdicate their responsibilities as citizens and forfeit their chance to make a difference. Exercise your greatest right, the right to vote.
