EDITORIAL FUNDS FOR FABIAN ASSEMBLY SPEAKER RATTLES HIS TIN CAN.

CALIFORNIA Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez has been in the news a lot lately, mostly about his penchant for a lavish lifestyle on his contributors' dime. It turns out he wants a long political career, too -- also on his contributors' dime.

The Sacramento Bee reported earlier this month that in a private caucus, Nunez hit up all 47 Assembly Democrats for $50,000 apiece to help pass his anti-term-limits initiative that would allow the politicians to stay in office longer.

But that's only fitting. Seeing that Proposition 93 would only benefit politicians, it makes sense that politicians -- through their campaign funds -- would help pay the bill.

So far, special interests have poured $3million into the campaign, about 20 times what the opposition has raised.

But, hey, living large in Sacramento ain't cheap.
