EDITORIAL EASY TRAFFIC FIX STOPPING ROADWORK DURING RUSH HOUR MAKES SENSE.ONE great side benefit of elections is that they get politicians to take the public's concerns seriously. Take traffic in Los Angeles - the No. 1 problem in most people's lives, the No. 1 issue city officials do their best to ignore. But when election season comes around, the politicians at least pay lip service to such issues. So in the primary campaign, candidate Bob Hertzberg proposed a no-brainer No-brainer A market in which it does not take very complex analysis to figure out how securities are going to perform, such as a strong bull market.: City crews shouldn't do roadwork during rush hour. That's already city policy, but rarely enforced. Even though Hertzberg's now out of the race, his idea lives on. City Councilwoman Wendy Greuel has proposed adopting a stricter no-rush- hour-work rule. It's a good idea that can't be put into effect soon enough. Let's just hope city leaders' enthusiasm for taking on the traffic issue lasts beyond the election. |
