EDITORIAL COMMUTE FROM HELL.

THE new Keanu Reeves movie ``Constantine'' depicts hell as being something like the 101 Freeway through Los Angeles - a vision that needs no further explanation to commuters, especially as we endure this latest siege of rain.

Of course, it's not just the 101 that provides hellish HELLISH - Hot Electron Light Emitting and Lasing in Semiconductor Heterostructure commuting experiences. From one end of Southern California to the other, congestion is getting worse. Hollywood could just have easily found a vision of the underworld on the 405, or Interstate 5, or Interstate 10, or the 210 Freeway.

Unless the region's leaders start working on new transportation, this movie version of Los Angeles' highways won't just be close to reality - it will be reality.
