EDITORIAL CHARITIES NEED HELP TIME TO DIG DEEPER.

THIS holiday season, with the economy in recession, there's plenty of people in need, but help is in short supply.

Local charities report that their fund-raising fund-raising, large-scale soliciting of voluntary contributions, especially in the United States. Fund-raising is widely undertaken by charitable organizations, educational institutions, and political groups to acquire sufficient funds to support their activities.  is down considerably since Sept. 11.

Mailboxes are stored on disk as a file of messages, a database of messages or as an individual file for each message. The standard mailboxes are usually In, Out, Trash and Junk (Spam). .

All of which suggests a crisis for the groups that help those who are most in need. Their desperation is a call to action to all of us who can to dig even deeper, and give even more to worthwhile charities.

Giving need not be limited to money. We can also give our time or our talent. And, of course, charity begins at home, by tending to the needs of the sick or the poor in our own lives.

'Tis the season for the Valley to live up to its reputation as the City of Volunteers.
