EDITORIAL A GOOD SHEPHERD.

LEADERSHIP isn't about political office or governmental power, but the ability to organize and inspire people to achieve ever-greater goals.

And Los Angeles has known few leaders greater than the Rev. Cecil L. ``Chip'' Murray. After 27 years as pastor of Los Angeles' First AME AME - African Methodist Episcopal (Church)
AME - (USN Rating) Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment)
AME - Abort Maneuver Evaluator
AME - Adaptive Maintenance Effort
AME - Adjustment of Model Estimates
AME - Advanced Medical Electronics Corporation
AME - Advanced Metal Evaporative (media)
AME - Advanced Modeling Extension
AME - Aeromedical Evacuation
AME - Aeronautical Maintenance Engineer
AME - Aerospace Management Element
 Church, Murray will retire Sunday.

Under his tenure, Murray has seen First AME's congregation swell from 300 members to 17,300. He has led the fights against homelessness and gangs, as well as created educational and professional opportunities for his community. And in 1992, he was a voice for peace, for unity and for healing in the wake of the Rodney King riots.

This is leadership. A good shepherd, Rev. Murray has served his flock - and his city - well.
