EDITORIAL 405 DOUBLE TALK.

STATE Senate Leader Don Perata Don Perata (born April 30, 1945) is a California Democratic politician, who is the current President pro tempore of the California State Senate. He was elected to the post of President Pro Tempore in 2004.  really has some nerve.

Perata adjourned the Senate's session for the year last Thursday night, instead of Friday, supposedly because he was annoyed at the Assembly for taking too long to do the people's business. Though he denies it, it seems clear that Perata didn't approve of the fast-tracked project because it didn't follow the normal building process that uses only unionized state engineers. The fast-tracked version would require some of the jobs to go to private-enterprise engineering firms.

With his action supported by local lawmakers, Perata betrayed millions of Valley and other Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
