Proposition 206 would continue this fine program by raising enough money to enable at least 2,000 more veterans to buy homes and farms. The practice of helping veterans buy homes and farms is as old at the nation itself (it dates back to the Revolutionary War), and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. is much the stronger for it. What's more, the Cal-Vet program hasn't cost California taxpayers a dime. It has been fully funded by loan payments made by participating veterans. That's all the more reason why voters should support Proposition 206.
