It provides 11 million people with electricity. customers can reduce their summertime electric bills by reducing power usage in two programs, the utility said. Customers can sign up for the Summer Discount Plan or get lower bills through the 20/20 Summer Savings Program. The 20/20 program, which does not require formal enrollment, is available to qualifying residential customers and small businesses that use less than 200 kilowatts of electricity. With the 20/20 program, customers who reduce their average daily energy use by 20 percent from June 5 through Oct. 2 compared to the same period in 2004 will pay 20 percent less on the remaining summer bill charges.
