EDA industry down 2% in Q3.

 -- The Electronic Design Automation Consortium's Market Statistics Service (MSS) announced that total Q3 revenue, including Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP), was $953 million, a 2% decrease from Q3 2003. Revenue for PCB PCB: see polychlorinated biphenyl.

IC Physical Design & Verification revenue at $272 million was down 9% from $298 million in the same period last year. Services revenue at $66 million showed a 5% increase over the same quarter last year.

North America revenues declined by 9% to $472 million, while Europe revenues of $192 million showed a 4% rise, and Japan at $183 million was also up 4%. Double-digit growth continued in the rest of the world, which showed total revenues of $107 million, up 11%from Q3 2003.
