EDA Startup Silicon Dimensions Launches Company, Completes Management Team; Industry Veterans Bring Extensive Integrated Circuit Design and Operational Experience to Company.

Silicon Dimensions (SDI), a maker of EDA products that address the physical constraints of today's process geometries and eliminate the complexities of IC design, today announced the formal launch of the company and the appointment of three industry veterans to executive positions, including Don Zereski, president and CEO; Michael Munsey, vice president marketing; and Wayne Koch, vice president field applications engineering. The newly appointed SDI executives bring extensive industry experience to their positions.

SDI is developing tools that will streamline the integrated circuit (IC) design closure process -- allowing logic design engineers to more efficiently and cost-effectively plan the design of large ICs. These tools will address problems which result in design schedule slips, design closure issues, increased development costs and general frustration in the IC design closure process. In addition to its development efforts, the company currently is in the process of establishing a direct field organization and distribution channel.

The new managers are veterans of the chip design industry with a broad range of experience at some of the country's major technology companies. As president and CEO, Don Zereski will drive SDI's product launches, funding activities and other corporate and business development initiatives. He brings more than 30 years' executive management experience to SDI. Previously, he led InfiniSwitch, a venture backed start-up, through two rounds of funding, managed the company's complex product development cycle, established sales channels and executed a merger with Lane 15. Earlier in his career, Zereski served as Groupe Bull's Senior Executive Vice President, and President and CEO, Americas. He also held executive positions at Data General and Digital Equipment Corporation.

As vice president, product marketing, Michael Munsey is responsible for the strategic direction and messaging for the SDI products. Munsey has more than a decade of marketing, sales and engineering experience in the EDA industry. Prior to joining SDI, he held various director-level roles in engineering, business development and product and technical marketing at Cadence, Sequence Design, Viewlogic Systems, IBM, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, GE Aerospace and RCA Government Systems.

As vice president, field applications engineering, Wayne Koch is responsible for leading the Application Engineering team. Koch has nearly 20 years semiconductor and systems experience in various management and engineering positions at Trebia Networks, IBM Microelectronics, Actel, Sky Computers and Hewlett Packard.
