ECSI (Electronic Control Security, Inc.) (OTC BB:EKCS), a global leader in security and anti-terrorist systems, announces the last stages of security upgrades are underway at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site in Colorado.

The $4 million project was initiated in August of 2000, and is now 90% complete.

Rocky Flats is home to the largest stockpile of non-weapons-grade plutonium in the country, and is designated by the EPA as a Superfund cleanup site. Rocky Flats is owned by the Department of Energy (DOE), and was a manufacturing site for nuclear weapons components until December of 1989. Located approximately 15 miles northwest of Denver, Rocky Flats is also in close proximity to the cities of Golden and Boulder.

The security upgrade is a collaborative effort between ECSI and E2 Technologies, which have teamed up to provide state-of-the-art security solutions to DOE facilities. The complex, three-phased project includes fence and security system installation.

ECSI is installing five different types of security systems, including the Infrared Perimeter Intrusion Detection (IPID(R)) system. The IPID(R) system is comprised of pulsed infrared sensors that detect an intruder passing through its electronic beams and then pinpoint the exact zone of intrusion. The IPID(R) system is ECSI's lead technology, and is also in use at nuclear power generating facilities, the Savannah River Facility and other government facilities across the country.
