SPR was designed by the U.S. Department of Energy as oil storage sites and is the largest stockpile of oil in the country. Given the global situation, DOE is determined to fill the reserves to capacity and aggressively protect them. The four SPR sites and the LNG facility are located along the Louisiana and Texas shorelines.
