ECONOMIST KELLNER, MARKET ANALYST STOVALL AND COLUMNIST CROFT TO ADDRESS AMEX'S 12 ANNUAL OPTIONS AND DERIVATIVE COLLOQUIUM ON MARCH 25 AND 26
NEW YORK, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Irwin Kellner, chief economist for Chemical Banking Corporation, Robert Stovall, president of Stovall/Twenty-First Advisers, Inc. and Richard Croft, director of Croft Financial Group and a columnist for several international newspapers, will be among the featured speakers at the American Stock Exchange's 12th annual Options and Derivative Colloquium. The event will take place on March 26 and 27 at New York University's Leonard Stern School of Business.
The Amex forum annually brings together academic researchers and industry practitioners from the U.S. and abroad in an interchange of findings and ideas on key issues affecting the derivative markets. Highlights this year will include presentations on such topics as the emergence of new derivative instruments; pricing of new CAP options, warrants and index options; the outlook for the economy and the markets, and new studies on market volatility.
"For the past 12 years, the Exchange's options Colloquium has provided an incisive look into the derivative markets," said American Stock Exchange Chairman James R. Jones. "Today, this Colloquium has increased in importance due to the remarkable flexibility that derivatives offer in managing risk in the international marketplace," Jones said.
Colloquium discussions also will focus on empirical studies on options prices and liquidity; impact of transactions costs; estimating and managing equity risk, and the legal issues in structuring options and equity derivatives.
Other speakers will include Stanley Jonas, Societe Generale; Arthur Margulis, Hull Trading Company; Robert Whaley, Duke University; Laura Friedman, Equitable Capital Management, and F. Martin Koenig, F. Martin Koenig Advisors.
More than 200 investment professionals are expected to attend the Amex's Options and Derivative Colloquium. Members of the press interested in attending any of the presentations can call contact below.
