As the most accurate weapons training system available today, this device trains marksmanship skills, squad level collective defense, and judgmental shoot-don't shoot tactics. It enables training on a variety of weapons including rifles, pistols, machineguns, shotguns, anti-tank, and grenade launchers. When fully fielded, the EST 2000 will train more soldiers each year than any other Army training system.

According to Dr. James C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer, "We have fielded 76 systems and currently have 44 more under contract at this time. A total of over 1,100 systems are expected to be issued through 2004. However, with the recent terrorist events, ECC is evaluating how quickly additional training systems could be deployed if required by the U.S. Armed Forces. We look forward to demonstrating the EST 2000 system capability at the Association of the U.S. Army annual meeting in Washington, DC this month."
