ECATALOGBUILDERS INTRODUCES X-ROM E-COMMERCE SOFTWARE.eCatalogBuilders has introduced X-Rom a flagship e-commerce product designed for direct mail e-commerce marketing, complementing print catalogs and online Web sites. It enables customers to browse electronic catalogs and make orders without being connected to the Internet. X-Rom bridges the gap between print catalogs and e-commerce. It allows consumers to view interactive catalogs on a CD or DVD using a built-in, familiar Web browser and shopping cart that does not require an Internet connection or server. "X-Rom is a brilliant concept," says Keith Crews, CEO of K10 Communications.Com, a high-end B2C portal. "We are working with eCatalogBuilders to maximize our reach to target markets without the expense of traditional mass media advertising. File sizes and bandwidth are not an issue like they are on the Web -- everything is right there on the disc." eCatalogs can be exported from the vendor's existing print catalog files or created from scratch. Pages may also be generated "on the fly" from a database. X-Rom functions either as a stand-alone eCatalog, or interlinks with an online Web site. "Of the 100 million shoppers surfing the Internet, only 15 percent of them are buying regularly. X-Rom provides a viable alternative for the other 85 percent who are still unsure of buying online," says eCatalogBuilders founder and CEO Doug Alberts. "Equally important, it can be distributed by any means -- direct mail, bundled with software or other products, inserted in magazines, or even placed in cereal boxes. X-Rom makes it easier for Web merchants and catalog marketers to put their products and services in front of more buyers. X-Rom is not only a retail-oriented product, but also an effective broad-based marketing tool for business-to-business e-commerce. It directly reaches individual buyers working inside large companies and government offices as well as small businesses, giving supply houses an important competitive advantage." X-Rom eCatalogs are economical to produce and distribute, providing a significant cost savings over traditional print catalogs. Back office, fulfillment services and product inventories are also available through eCatalogBuilders' X-Manage interface. X-Rom also has the ability to interact with the customer's personal computer clock to announce specials and advertising announcements and it supports a full array of multimedia enhancements. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Sacramento, Calif., eCatalogBuilders develops and markets modular and integrated e-commerce solutions. For more information, call 916/927-7380. |
