NTT Electronics' encoders will be used for live coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, when demand for high quality images will be increased. They also will be used for many sports events like Euro2008(1), Tour de France Tour de France

Additionally, these encoders support both SD and HD formats, which gives EBU much more flexibility than before and gives viewers a spectacular experience.

The HE5100, delivered to EBU, incorporates the internally-developed single-chip MPEG-2 codec LSI to realize high image quality in a compact unit. It supports both SDTV (Standard Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards with 480 lines of resolution.
